Last week our family headed to Florida to experience Disney World for the first time.
We had a wonderful time (and took lots of pictures : )
Ryan & Mom on the airplane ready for take-off
Evan & Luke keeping busy with sticker books
Aunt Valen got to fly with us as far as Chicago,
and she and Jenna enjoyed being plane partners. : )
Dad & Kara working on a word find
When we arrived in Florida, it was HOT!
The kids immediately headed for the little pool behind our rental townhouse.
They spent many hours in this pool during the course of the week!
Luke jumping off Dad’s shoulders
After cooling off in the pool, we were off to Disney World!
Once we arrived, we took the ferry boat from the parking lot to Magic Kingdom.
(Did you know that Magic Kingdom's parking lot covers 125 acres?!
That is larger than the park itself, which spans 107 acres.
More than 12,000 cars can park in the parking lot. Wow.)
First glimpse of Magic Kingdom and Cinderella’s Castle from the ferry boat
Cooling off in the spray from a spitting camel : )
Our first ride… Splash Mountain
which features a 5-story, free-fall plunge at a 45-degree angle
into a splash pool at a speed of 40 miles per hour.
(This picture does an excellent job of showing how we all feel about roller coasters. ; )
Riding the monorail back to the parking lot after a long, exciting day!
I LOVE that Splash Mountain picture! It is most definitely a picture that is worth a thousand words!
